Keeping your iPhone current is critical for keeping ahead of bugs and security updates. It is a simple enough process if you know where to look!
- You can check for new updates on your iPhone by going to “Settings” and then tap on “General”.
- Now tap on Software Updates.
- In the below image you can see that the software is already up to date. You might want to turn off the Automatic Updates so you can choose when to install new software. Generally, updates will resolve security issues and resolve bugs in the software. Occasionally, these updates (particularly major version updates) can introduce new issues. You’re probably best to wait for the major updates to be adopted by others and then update after the resulting fixes on the new software is in place. Often this will take a few weeks after the initial release.
